Thanks o0straykitty0o, I think you've got some good ideas in yours. What I like to do is play through a few times and record some ideas. Then I listen to them each and make note of the parts I liked. After that I try putting all the good ideas in one solo. See if that works for you. I used to feel this was a rather contrived way or writing a guitar solo until I saw an interview with David Gilmour from Pink Floyd and he said he writes lots of his solos this way and did so for some of his most famous ones.
